Clay, Tools, and Firing

  • All clay and tools for you to use will be provided by Odyssey.

  • We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty. You may bring an apron or personal hand towel. Also, you may want to leave your rings, bracelets and watches in a safe place since you will be getting your hands into the clay. You are welcome to bring a snack and a drink if you wish. Get ready to have fun!

  • Firing and glaze is included in the price. Large scale or large volumes of work may be charged an additional firing fee.

  • The firing process will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks. Your pottery will take some time to dry before going through it's first firing. Next, the pots will be glazed and go through a second firing. You will pick the glaze color at the end of the lesson. Your pottery will be food safe and ready to be used at home! We recommend hand-washing your handmade pottery, but it will be dishwasher and microwave safe.

  • Your instructor will contact you via email when your pots are ready for pick-up.

  • Shipping is available if necessary. Shipping and handling fees are not included in the price of the lesson. If pottery needs to be shipped, your instructor will have you fill out a shipping form at the time of your lesson. When the work is ready we will send an invoice to your email for the shipping cost. Once payment is received we will send the package(s).
